Blackjack is known to be very beatable. That is why the casinos are using different variations of Blackjack rules to keep their advantage at an acceptable level. The basic 3 to 2 Blackjack table has a little above 5% house advantage, but the number is not fixed at all since you can influence them by understanding the game better. Advanced techniques such as card counting methods are known to possess the ability to reduce house advantage quite substantially as well.

To keep their advantage acceptable, one of the things casinos usually do is use different number of decks. The more decks used in a Blackjack table, the higher house advantage the table has. Even some of the easier card counting methods can be beaten — or at least rendered virtually impossible to use — with the use of multiple decks at a Blackjack table.

At tables using two decks, the house advantage increases by 0.35%. Players who are trying to master counting card techniques will have a more difficult time using their new tricks at the table when two decks are used; advanced card counters can still use their tricks though.

With six decks, the house advantage is increased by 0.58%. Tables using eight decks enjoy a cool 0.61% increase on their house advantage. If you think the use of multiple decks alone is enough, wait till you see the new continuous shuffling machine used by some casinos. Be sure to avoid the continuous shuffling machine and stick with tables using fewer decks.
